USHERING IN A NEW ERA AT PINE RIDGE VET!

Well, after 47 years Dr. Pat Stapley Chase and Dr. Vern Chase are finally going to take some well earned time for themselves. Pat and Vern purchased Pine Ridge Veterinary Clinic in May of 1976 from Dr. Jim Stowe who had started the clinic in the early 1970's. the original location was on Division Street in Cobourg, a two-story brick building with the kennel rooms on the upper floor. (Yes, they carried the sick pets up and down stairs no matter the size). Originally seeing large animal (farm calls) and small animal and then focusing their efforts on canine and feline medicine only. They purchased and moved the practice to its current location at 483 Ontario Street in the spring of 1982. They have raised their family within these walls. (both 2 and 4 legged!)

Vern retired from seeing appointments a few years ago and now it's Pat's turn, but don't worry, they are leaving both the clients and patients in excellent, locally owned, non-corporate hands. They will pass the torch to Dr. Karen McKenzie who has been practicing medicine here at Pine Ridge Veterinary Clinic since 2008. starting first with emergency coverage, she then came on board part time - then full time, finally purchasing shares in the clinic and becoming Pat and Vern's business partner 6 and a half years ago. Karen knew from an exceptionally young age that she wanted to be a vet and never wavered, dreaming of having her very own piece of vet clinic heaven to work in one day. She is following the tradition of moving to the area and raising a family within the walls of this clinic. For those of you who have not already had the pleasure of meeting Dr. McKenzie you have certainly seen her upbeat colourful influence around the clinic, from the funky chairs in the waiting room, colourful artwork and most recently the beautiful graffiti mural on the building.

Don't worry she won't be left all on her own, Pine Ridge Veterinary Clinic will also continue to have Dr. Guylaine Paquin, Dr. Daniel Lindquist and Dr. Chiemi Ogawa here to serve clients and their furry companions. Location, business name, support staff and contact info will also remain the same, and with all that said we are onto another new exciting chapter in the Pine Ridge Veterinary Clinic story.
